We Cheated for Valentine's Day!

Carol Alt, noted raw foodist and supermodel (and author of Eating in the Raw), says that often people will not change their diets because they just couldn't live without one particular food. She advises people to allow themselves one "cheat." I think mine would be Thai food!

Last night we went to dinner at a local, inexpensive Thai restaurant. We ordered salad rolls with peanut dipping sauce for an appetizer and Thai fried rice and some kind of mung bean noodles for the entrees. It was all very delicious, but we only ate HALF of what we would normally chow down, and left with two containers of leftovers for our daughter to enjoy.

We definitely felt "heavier" after this cooked and fairly rich meal, even though we had only eaten half of our entrees. In some ways, that was really important for me to discover. I think as you eat a more raw diet, you become increasingly sensitive to your body's signals.
